CORE BELIEFS

What is the Gospel?

Gospel means “Good News.”*

The God of the Bible created the Universe (Genesis 1:1; Acts 17:24)

Mankind was created perfect, in the image and likeness of God, with freewill to obey or disobey God. When the first man, Adam, chose to rebel against God, the entire human race became sinful, and alienated from a Holy God (Genesis 1:26–27; Romans 3:22– 23; 5:12; Ephesians 2:12). There is nothing in Adam’s fallen descendants with which God can be pleased. Mankind is, therefore, doomed to be separated from God ultimately in Hell (Isaiah 64:6; Romans 3:9–18; 6:23).

Because God loved us, He had a plan to save mankind. He chose to send His Son, Jesus Christ, the second member of the Trinity, to take on human flesh, and to live a perfect life on earth in our place. He came to bear the wrath of God that our sin deserved and to die in our place. By His death on the cross, He paid the penalty our sin deserved, thereby securing our salvation (John 3:16; 19:30; Romans 5:8; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4).

God saves man by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone. No works before, during, or after the moment of faith in Christ contribute anything to the free gift of forgiveness and eternal life one receives through faith in Christ (Ephesians 2:8-9). There is no other way to be saved (John 14:6; Acts 4:12; 1 Timothy 2:5).

No act of obedience, whether preceding or following faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, may be added to, or considered a part of, faith as a condition for receiving eternal salvation. The saving transaction between God and the sinner consists simply of His giving and our receiving a free gift that is without cost to the believer (Romans 4:5; Galatians 2:16; Titus 3:5).

Rejecting His free gift will result in your separation from God for all eternity in conscious torment (John 3:36).

The salvation of all believers is kept secure forever (Romans 5:9-10; Romans 8:38-39; 2 Timothy 2:13; John 10:27-29).

HOW CAN I BE SAVED?

The free gift of eternal life may be yours by believing that Christ alone died as your substitute (John 3:16; Acts 16:31). Trust in the promises of Christ alone for your eternal destiny and the safe keeping of your soul. Instead of trusting in yourself, your church, your own self-righteousness, trust exclusively in Jesus Christ.

CORE BELIEFS

God

There is one eternally existing God who has three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is the creator of all that exists, both visible and invisible, and is therefore worthy of all glory and praise. God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom, justice, and mercy. He is unchangeable and therefore is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

Revelation

God has revealed himself to us through his son, Jesus Christ, who is the visible image of the invisible God, the holy scriptures, and through all of creation itself.

Mankind

Humans, both male and female, were created in God's image for His glory. The first humans, Adam and Eve, were created without sin and appointed as caretakers of the rest of God's creations.

The Fall

When Adam and Eve chose not to obey God, they ceased to be what they were made to be and became distorted images of God. This caused them to fall out of fellowship with God, and fractured all of creation ever since that time.

Salvation

Jesus Christ came to reconcile us with God. He lived a life without sin and willingly died on the cross to pay the full penalty for our transgressions. God raised Him from the dead. Now, by grace, He offers, as a free gift, eternal life to all who accept by faith alone Jesus Christ as their Saviour. This is why salvation can be found in Christ alone.

The Church

The Church is meant to be the visible body of Christ, sent into the world to glorify God and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Resurrection

Jesus Christ is returning one day to judge both the living and the dead and to usher in the fullness of God's kingdom on earth.

The Scriptures

Both the Old and New Testaments, are the verbally inspired and inerrant Word of God. Divine inspiration extends equally and fully to all parts and words of the Bible, so that the whole Bible, in the original manuscripts, is without error. The Bible is God’s revelation to man and is therefore the final authority for all Christian faith and practice. 2 Timothy 3:16,17

Positional Beliefs

The intent of the POSITION STATEMENTS is to provide clarity in addressing theological and/or ethical issues at Jacquie Hnidey Ministries.

Sanctity of Life

The baby, from the moment of conception, is a person (Psalm 139:13-18). All persons are created in the image of God regardless of age, health, function and/or condition of dependency.

Eschatology

Eschatology is the doctrine of future things. As a framework for interpreting and teaching prophesy, I hold to a pre-tribulational, pre-millennial position. I teach that a literal thousand-year period of time (the millennium) lies ahead in the future (Rev. 20:1-8). At the conclusion of this time period, there will be a final judgment of non- Christians and then the eternal state will begin (Rev. 20:11-15). Immediately preceding this millennial period, a period of tribulation, lasting seven years, will dominate the earth (Dan. 9:27; Rev. 6:1-19:21). However, just prior to this, all believers will be removed from the earth (the rapture) and thus escape this period of tribulation (1 Thess. 4:13-18).

The Definition of Marriage

Marriage is a covenant designed by God. This biblical definition of marriage is not conditioned by culture or personal perspective but ordained by God from the beginning and expected to continue until eternity. Marriage is intended to be between one man and one woman as God biologically created them male and female from conception. Hence, any other proposals for marriage are outside of God’s intended design (Leviticus 18:22; 20:13; Romans 1:26–27; 1 Corinthians 6:9–11; 1 Timothy 1:9–10)
